Ngunguru Beach Condominium

Welcome to Ngunguru

Our condo is on the beautiful Tutukaka Coast, in the charming resort village of Ngunguru (nun-goo-roo). Across the street is a safe beach with warm swimming in the estuary of the Ngunguru River, sheltered from the ocean by a barrier peninsula.

Ngunguru is a seaside suburb of Whangarei (hwong-gu-ray), a beautiful city of 40,000, with excellent shopping and a wide variety of cultural activities, recreation, and services. Ngunguru village offers three restaurants, grocery, fast food takeout, beauty shop/ boutique, doctor, garage. The Ngunguru social center has its own pub, golf, tennis, lawn bowls, gymnasium, badminton, and cricket. Our condo is part of a twelve-unit complex with on-site management, laundromat, phone, restaurant, and all motel services.

Map The Tutukaka Coast is a natural wonderland of gorgeous, uncrowded beaches, bays, inlets, volcanic formations rising from the sea, the clearest water imaginable, countless trails, viewpoints, acoastal parks. New Zealand’s coast is reserved for public use twelve meters above the high tide line, thus offering virtually unlimited beach access. Fourteen miles from Tutukaka Harbor lie the Poor Knights Islands, one of the world’s ten best diving spots, according to Jacques Cousteau. Fishing at the edge of this marine reserve is great!
